Summary

The Ministry of Justice has initiated the process of codifying intellectual property. It is hoped to produce a higher quality code of intellectual property that is better integrated with the legal system and is more modern. At that, the planned codifi cation of the industrial property law is not treated as a revolutionary project but rather as a logical continuation of the development to date. The launched process of codifi cation is broad-based and accessibility as well as openness have become the principles it proceeds from. The plan is to regulate copyrights and related rights in one planned legal instrument in the course of codifi cation while another act will include all issues of industrial property law. This article explores the initial choices as regards the structure, programme and content of the result of codifi cation. In so doing the author concentrates mainly on the industrial property law and legal regulation.
