Summary

For an ordinary man or woman, social security law primarily means the benefits he or she is entitled to receive. However, social security law has several important functions. Apart from assignment of benefits, the social security law also involves rules regulating the conditions under which social benefits are payable as well as rules governing the organisation and funding of the social security system and the provision of a variety of services. Social security law is a set of functional rules of law which regulate the relationships in the social security system.
