Summary

The latest most important events in the Law Faculty were the following:

1. The Ambassador of the United Kingdom Mr Brian Buik Low paid a special visit to Tartu and presented the Faculty with some personal computers and a laser printer for the realization of the publishing programme (the law review Juridica);

2. Prof. J.P. Grant and publisher D. Fletcher visited the Faculty and helped to solve the questions of financing the Juridica for which the Faculty is deeply grateful to the Scottish Law Society;

3. Prof. dr. W. Von Stetten, chairman of the Baltic group in Bundestag, and Mr. Callow, counsellor of the Estonian Ministry of Justice, lectured at the Faculty;

4. A 13-member delegation of the American Bar Association visited the Faculty;

5. A new four - year curriculum was adopted and the statute foe awarding the Master’s degree was confirmed;

6. An alumnus of the Student Society Raimla Mr Mäelo donated 40 000 EEK to the Faculty; a travel fund was created.
