Summary

In countries with Germanic legal traditions, great attention is paid to the protection of the rights of job seekers. Legal regulation prior to entry into an employment contract covers the rights and duties of job seekers and employers and permissible and non-permissible questions at job interviews. However, the Estonian law only protects persons who have already entered into employment relationships. The law does not protect the rights of job seekers and, therefore, employers often take advantage of such situation.
The author provides an overview of court practice and legal regulation of the rights of job seekers in Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
