Summary


In this article the author analyses the definition of disease in general and the definition of mental disease in particular. Throughout human history, the definitions have been significantly different although at present differences are disappearing.
Forensic psychiatric examination cannot be fully regulated by law. The organised development of forensic psychiatry and co-operation of experts in this field also assist in ensuring the quality and consistency of expert examination.
